Russian dictator Vladimir Putin landed on Friday at Elmendorf Air Base in Alaska, where he was received by US President Donald Trump to discuss ways to end the war in Ukraine. After the first compliments, both went to the official limousine of the White House, known as “The Beast.”
The attitude is considered uncommon, especially because Moscow is waring against a country supported by the US. In the past, when Trump wanted the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un to enter the “beast,” his advisers convinced him otherwise.
How is “The Beast”?
Modified and exclusive production by General Motors, the beast is a cadillac shielded with glasses capable of supporting ammunition of the highest caliber, rifles and high accuracy rifles. Experts point out that their armor consists of a layer of at least 30 centimeters of protection and may even bear explosives.
The doors are airtight closure, that is, fully closed, preventing the passage of air, water, dust, with the aim of avoiding a possible chemical attack and the interior of the vehicle has oxygen tanks.
Beast tires are designed to continue running even in case of holes or damage by external elements, to ensure a successful escape in case of attacks. Inside the limousine there is a president’s blood bag in a refrigerated compartment for any emergencies.
The car also has a fully secure communication system, with irstairs and interceptable phones. According to former Democratic President Barack Obama (2009-2016), it is possible to mobilize a nuclear submarine from a connection of the mobile devices available in the beast.
The size of the vehicle causes logistics challenges on state trips. Usually, the White House sends the vehicle on military load aircraft even before the agent’s boarding – so that the car is already on site when the president arrives. The transportation is expensive and planned in advance by the high summit of the secret service.
The shield makes your weight a difficult vehicle to maneuver, and usually your parts such as brakes, transmission and tires are easily worn out, making it often have to undergo high cost maintenance.
Even with the car having wide protection, Limousine is never alone and is always escorted by other vehicles – something known as presidential motorcade – to reinforce safety protocols. Added to protection, an ambulance also integrates the train for a medical emergency.
Before the president enters the vehicle to make the planned route, the secret service requires another car to make the way minutes before, as another presidential protection protocol. Afterwards, the scouts are called and open the way to the car of the White House chief.
The cars of the train, usually SUVs, which help the presidential vehicle also have protections, such as: domes on the ceiling capable of, if necessary, disable any explosive of remote detonation, either by radio or telephone.
Inside the vehicles are highly trained, secret service, which carry state -of -the -art and high precision weapons.
