The Joint Commission that analyzes the Provisional Measure (MP) on the new tax rules on financial investments and virtual assets meets on Tuesday (12) in Congress and the participation of Finance Minister Fernando Haddad is confirmed.
Investment funds that are currently exempt, such as credit letters and real estate funds, which will pay a rate of 5% on income are currently exempt from the MP. It also includes, among other topics, specific rules for taxation of virtual assets, stock market operations, foreign assets and investors loans, and expands taxation on fixed quota bets, BETS.
The measure was referred to the National Congress in June to compensate for the revocation of the Increased Financial Operations Tax (IOF). The Joint Commission is chaired by Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL) and is rapporteur for Deputy Carlos Zarattini (PT-SP).
