This Thursday (7), former basketball player Igor Cabral became a defendant in court for the attack on his girlfriend. The Court has reported that the case is under secret and “will have regular progress, with the defendant’s summons to present his defense, followed by marking the instructional hearing.”

On July 26, a woman was brutally assaulted with more than 60 punches by her boyfriend inside the elevator of a condominium in Natal. The crime was recorded by security cameras. Igor Eduardo Cabral, a former basketball player and aggressor, was arrested in the act and, after a custody hearing, had his arrest converted into preventive. He will answer for attempted femicide, as reported by police.

The victim underwent surgery on Friday (1st) to reconstruct face bones at the Onofre Lopes University Hospital (huol). According to the institution, the objective of the operation was to “restore the form and function of the face”, since the woman suffered multiple fractures in the jaw and face.

The former player claimed that the reason for the attack was a claustrophobic crisis. He also mentioned having a child with autistic spectrum disorder.
