Igor Cabral, arrested for beating his girlfriend, was transferred to a unit of the Rio Grande do Norte prison system this Friday (1st). The former player was arrested preventively at the Receipt and Screening Center (CRT), and was sent to the Dinora Sinas Public Prison. The aggressor is responsible for attempted femicide.
The arrest to which Cabral was transferred has no individual cells, so he will be with other prisoners at the scene. His defense claims that he would be receiving threats from criminal factions due to the enormous visibility of the case. The Rio Grande do Norte Criminal Secretariat (Seap) said it follows strict criteria in relation to the physical integrity of the detainees.
On June 26, Igor was caught by security cameras assaulting his girlfriend with 60 punches. The woman’s face was disfigured and she had to have surgery in the region. According to her report, the victim stated that the aggressor intended to kill her.
In a statement to the police, the man claimed that he was in a claustrophobic outbreak. The moment, he said, was provided by the discussion with his girlfriend, who did not open the gate and the door. Igor’s aggressions occurred in the elevator.
