Ferrari bought a copy from the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric hyperport car with the aim of studying its technology and using it as a reference to develop future electrified models.

The vehicle was seen when the Italian brand’s Maranello facility was abandoned and tested on the private Fiorano track as part of a benchmarking process – a common practice for car manufacturers to analyze competitors.
According to Chinese sources, the approach between Ferrari and Xiaomi can go beyond the simple evaluation of SU7. Representatives of the Italian manufacturer allegedly visited the Xiaomi center last year to discuss a possible partnership in the development of powerful electric motors. This initiative suggests that Ferrari is interested in advanced solutions developed by the Chinese brand and might want to integrate them.
Introduced in 2024, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is impressed with 1.548 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds and is over 320 km/ht-all at a lower price than competitors such as Tesla Model S Plaid is to Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
The quick acceptance of the model and its global impact indicates that changes are being made at the center of automotive innovation – Chinese manufacturers no longer only follow trends, but also affect Western iconic brands.
