China approves the qualification of 183 new Brazilian companies to export coffee to the Chinese market, according to information from the China Embassy in Brazil. The measure came into force on July 30, and will be valid for five years.
The decision opens doors for the national coffee sector, amid Donald Trump’s tariff. The product has not entered the list of exceptions of the president and will face 50% rates for exports to the United States, starting next Wednesday, August 6.
The Chinese market consolidates itself as one of the main export destinations, with enormous potential for small, medium and large Brazilian roasts. The embassy also confirmed the approval of 30 more Brazilian companies for sesame exportation to the country for the next 4 years.
