According to data released by the new Caged, from the Ministry of Labor, last Monday (8), Brazil created 166,621 formal jobs in June. As a result, the total formal jobs in the country exceeded 48.4 million.
In June, there were 2,139,182 hires and 1,972,561 layoffs. The Brazilian labor market registered growth in the generation of formal jobs throughout the country: in all, 26 of the 27 Federation units presented a positive balance of signed portfolio hiring. The states with the largest absolute number of new vacancies were São Paulo (+40,089), Minas Gerais (+24,228) and Rio de Janeiro (+15,363). In proportional terms, the largest growths occurred in Amapá (+1.29%), Mato Grosso (+0.96%) and Maranhão (+0.93%).
All the five main sectors of the economy closed the month with positive performance. The services sector led the creation of jobs, with 77,057 new vacancies (+0.33%). The areas that most contributed in this segment were information and communication, financial and real estate activities, as well as professional and administrative services, responsible for 41,477 posts.
Trade also performed well, with 32,938 jobs created (+0.31%). Then came agriculture, with 25,833 new hires (+1.38%), the industry, which generated 20,105 posts (+0.22%), and the construction, with a balance of 10,665 vacancies (+0.35%).
The June result reinforces the trend of formal employment recovery in the country, with expansion in different regions and sectors of the economy. However, compared to June last year, the number decreased: a drop of 19.2%.
