Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck didn’t set out to be a shining example of post-split possibility, but here they are.
The actors—who’ve now been exes for as long as they were married—caught a Red Sox game with their kids Fin16, and Samuel13, in July, yet another home run recorded ahead of their induction into the Coparenting Hall of Fame.
“Happy Father’s Day to 3 people’s favorite landing spot,” Garner, who also shares 19-year-old daughter Violet with Affleck, wrote in tribute to her ex-husband in June, posting a throwback photo of the Argo star holding one of their babies.
Married for almost 10 years before announcing in June 2015 that they were separated and planning to divorce, the pair have looked so at ease in recent months that they sparked reconciliation rumors in the wake of Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Nor was it the first time that hopes were high for a resurgence of the O.G. Ben and Jen, the pair who hightailed it to the Bahamas with their children when their split news broke having set the tone early on about the importance of operating as a team, even when it’s really hard.
Which, from the outside, can still look a lot like two people in love.
