Using an improved version with thermal camera and manual control, drones have completely destroyed the Pantsir-S1 system and disabled several essential radars for Russian air surveillance. One of the drones managed to penetrate Saky’s military air base, striking near a SU-30 hunter, possibly causing damage to the aircraft.

The Saky air base, located on the Crimean Peninsula, is an important strategic point for Russian aviation. It houses the 43rd hunting aviation regiment and operates su-30sm hunters as well as bombers Su-24 which participate in attacks against Ukraine.
Since the start of the large -scale war, this base has been regularly targeted by the Ukrainian defense forces, especially during an attack in August 2022 which destroyed several planes and damaged local infrastructure.

In addition to the recent attacks, in 2024 the base was affected by Atacms ballistic missiles, which have targeted depots of Russian ammunition, staff and surveillance radars.
These strikes highlight the Ukrainian strategy aimed at weakening Russian air capacity in Crimea by specific attacks against its main military facilities.
