According to Rostec, the vehicles have been upgraded based on the experience gained in recent years from real combat operations. They now feature additional protection and signature-reduction technologies, making the armored vehicles less visible to enemy detection systems.
“Today, the standard BMP-3 configuration is vastly different from the version delivered before the start of the special military operation. Over the past three years, dozens of changes have been incorporated based on military requests and practical battlefield experience,” the corporation stated in an official announcement.
The improvements include side shields, protective grills, upper-vehicle defense systems, stealth technologies, and new devices that enhance mobility and weapon efficiency.
Rostec also noted that it maintains a flexible production and modernization system for armored vehicles, which allows for the rapid incorporation of updates requested by field troops while simultaneously expanding serial production of the BMP-3.
