Moscow, Russia -The state group “helicopters of Russia”, part of the Rostec corporation, announced the delivery of 10 new Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to five regional Russian airlines.
The aircraft will be used in civilian missions in the Siberia, Ural and the Far East, and will promote better air accessibility in remote areas.

The helicopters were delivered as part of a contract with the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), and will play a strategic role in passenger transport, shipping and medical evacuation in difficult to access areas.

Distribution of aircraft after operator:
- Polar Airlines (Yakutia) og Taiga (Sakhalin) received two helicopters each. Taiga will also participate in offshore assignments for drilling platforms.
- Eltsovka Received two helicopters for operations in Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnojarsk and the districts of Jamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi.
- Strezhevoy Airlines Received helicopters for use in Kamcjatka and other areas on the peninsula.
- Finally, two Mi-8mtv-1 were delivered to ChukotAVIAand strengthens the air connection in the autonomous district of Tsjukotka.
Technical properties and adjustments
Each helicopter is configured with 23 seats and adapted for the installation of medical modules, which enables rapid redevelopment for rescue and patient transport assignments. The aircraft are also adapted for exterior loading systems, thus expanding the capacity for heavy loads.
