USA denounce that China retains government official

by Marcelo Moreira

Following the case of an US executive, the Trump State Department of Management reported on Tuesday that a US government official was prevented from leaving China after traveling to the Asian country for personal purposes.

The employee’s name was not disclosed. According to the Associated Press agency, the folder headed by Secretary Marco Rubio said he is “following this case closely” and is in contact with the Chinese authorities.

The server is linked to the United States patent and brands office, part of the Trade Department.

“The state department has no greater priority than the security of US citizens,” the folder said.

On Monday (21), China’s Foreign Ministry had already informed that Banco Wells Fargo’s administrative director, Chenyue Mao, had been prohibited from leaving the country after the opening of a criminal investigation.

Chinese dictatorship prohibits the departure of people from the country involved in investigations, including commercial disputes, and has a history of adopting this maneuver to maintain Chinese and foreign citizens in the country arbitrarily.
