The official profile of the US embassy in Brazil made a post in Portuguese, on Wednesday (23), against illegal immigration by alluding to the fictional character of the 1980s: “If you are in the US illegally, do as ET: It’s time to call home. Use the CBP Home app and now, with support and dignity. You will receive assistance for the trip and a cost to return to your home country.”
In the center of the image, the classic scene of the film appears with the following message: “Even ET knew the time to go home.”
The post follows the state department logo [equivalente ao Ministério das Relações Exteriores no Brasil] and cites the CBP Home application, which provides assistance for voluntary self -managing.
The official website indicates that the application is a “historical opportunity for illegal foreigners to receive free trips, forgiveness of any fine for non -departure and a $ 1,000 bonus to facilitate travel back to their home country.”
Since taking over the US presidency, Donald Trump has increasingly hardened policies against illegal immigrants in the country. In a similar publication, the embassy even stated that the visa by foreign citizens is a privilege, not a right.
