A 27 -year -old Norwegian citizen who worked as a security guard for the US embassy in Norway was accused of spying on to Russia and Iran. In return, he allegedly received 200,000 Norwegian crowns (about $ 110,000) in Bitcoins.

“As a security guard, the amount of sensitive information he has access to is limited, but we consider it to be a serious matter,” promoter Carl Frederik Fari told “TV 2” channel.

The prosecution points out that the suspect shared with Iran and Russia data on embassy employees – names, telephone numbers and addresses – as well as information on safety procedures and parking images and communication equipment.

The information was transmitted to the alleged Russian contacts in Serbia and Iranian contacts in Türkiye.

The accused’s lawyer, Inger Zadig, told “TV 2” that her client recognizes having shared the data, but denies all responsibility for considering that it was not secret information.

What should be clarified before the courts, according to Zadig, is the nature of information and if the fact that it has shared affects the national interests of Norway or the United States.

The accused figure as an co-owner and director general of a security company who had received approval from the Oslo police to watch out for public and private areas.

The company also offered bodyguard services, embassies security and private homes, as well as transportation services.
