Two American legislators, one Democrat and one Republican, are promoting a bipartisan bill in the House of Representatives of the United States that aims to provide binker -destroying bombs and aircraft to Israel.
“Iran has killed dozens of Americans, including our military, and repeatedly attacked our main democratic ally, Israel must be able to defend themselves from Iran and ensure that they cannot rebuild their nuclear abilities,” said Democratic Deputy Josh Gottheimer, one of the authors of the “Bunker Buster Act.”
According to him, Iran is the main sponsor of terrorism and one of the largest enemies in the United States.
For Republican Deputy Mike Lawler, co -author of the proposal, “the bill gives the president the authority to equip Israel with the tools and training needed to stop Tehran and make the world a safer place.”
The United States used B-2 bombers last month in an attack aimed at Iran’s nuclear facilities. About 125 aircraft participated in the operation, including aircraft that launched powerful 13,600 kg antibunker bombs on two important uranium enrichment facilities: Fordow and Natanz. A submarine fired Tomahawk missiles against Isfahan’s installation.
The Pentagon said on Wednesday that the US attack on Iran’s three nuclear facilities delayed the nuclear plan of the Islamic country between one and two years, a change in Washington’s positioning that they had been completely damaged.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said at a news conversation that all conversations with US allies in the Middle East and other parts of the world since the operation against Iran known as “midnight hammer” show that they share the opinion of “the degradation of the Iranian nuclear program and the fact that it was delayed between one and two years.”
Deputy Gottheimer has already presented similar proposals on two occasions in the US Chamber, first in 2022 and then in 2024. However, the projects did not advance due to lack of support.
