United States President Donald Trump secured one of the most important victories of his second term on Thursday (3) with the approval of his tax plan in the House of Representatives, after hours of stopping with a record speech by the minority leader, Democrat Hakeem Jeffries, and months of disagreement among Republicans about the proposal’s key points.
With the vote finished in 218 against 214 unfavorable votes, the Republican managed to keep his subtitle aligned, fulfilling the deadline of July 4 that he himself gave the legislators to discuss and advance with the fiscal plan.
The Budget MegaProject, nicknamed by the president of “great and beautiful bill” guarantees the elimination of taxes, the financing of national security and immigration policies and the reduction of spending on the social security network.
Mayor Mike Johnson spoke after the vote was completed, stating that “with a big and beautiful bill, we will make this country stronger, safer and more prosperous than ever, and all Americans will benefit from it.”
“Today we are launching a cornerstone of the New Golden Age of the United States,” added Trump’s ally.
MAIN POINTS OF THE FISCAL PLAN
Trump’s fiscal plan is seen as an extension of his first term. One of the main points of the project is the cutting of tips and social security. The proposal also increases the state and local tax deduction ceiling (Salt).
The president’s fiscal plan includes financing his migratory policies, a central theme of his campaign in both terms. The approved budget package ensures a $ 150 billion increase in financing for the construction of the Mexico border, immigration inspection and deportations.
The defense area will also benefit from the new expenses approved by Congress. The plan provides US $ 150 billion in new national security spending for priorities such as shipping and for the antimyseal defense project called “Golden Dome“similar to Israel’s iron dome.
