The announcement is part of a major change in the way the UK’s Armed Forces will fight in future wars, according to the site UK Defence Journal.

Financing was detailed in a written parliamentary response to adapt to the recommendations of the strategic defense review, which requested a rapid transformation of the forces.

The plan is to implement the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous systems in central roles in the land, maritime and air domains.

Maria EagleMinister of State at the Ministry of Defense said that the UK will increasingly adopt a “high and low level mixture”, combining state -of -the -art man with more affordable unmanned systems to increase combat mass and resilience.

However, the minister refused to specify how many unmanned systems are currently in service or how many will be purchased over the next three years. According to her, “more details will be defined as part of the defense investment plan.”
