During a night attack to Odessa in Ukraine, an interceptor drone knocked down a Russian drone from the Shahed model.
The incident, recorded by local residents, occurred after failed attempts from the Ukrainian forces to neutralize the artifact with machine guns, hampered by low visibility and high speed of the target.

The interceptor drone collided directly with the central part of Shahed, causing its destruction in full air. These vehicles are designed to reach high speed quickly and have fragmentation warheads that increase the effectiveness against air targets, even without direct impacts, thanks to the explosion radius.
Ukraine has invested in developing these systems to reinforce their air defense. Groups like Wild Hornets have already produced significant lots of these drones, and by 2024 the country presented the Sting model for the same purpose.
Authorities believe that large -scale adoption of these technologies can reduce the number of civilian victims and damage caused by Russian kamikaze drones.
