American President Donald Trump, in a publication made last Sunday (6), threatened to impose an additional 10% tariff on “any country that aligns with BRICS anti -American policies.”
“Any country that aligns with BRICS anti -American policies is expected to pay an additional 10%tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy,” Trump wrote in his own social network, Truth Social.
Last Sunday, the Economic Block celebrated its 17th Summit Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, and the theme of the first plenary session was “Peace and Security, and Reform of Global Governance.” Saudi Arabia, the main American ally in the Middle East, chose to be absent from the discussion.
The block, in its final statement, expressed its “serious concerns about increasing unilateral tariff and non -tariff measures that distort trade and are inconsistent with the rules of the World Trade Organization.”
The statement also condemns the attacks on Iran without directly quoting both the United States and Israel.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, who attended the meeting remotely, due to his arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), defended the decalarization and said that the unipolar world – concentrated in the United States and liberal globalization are falling.
“[O mundo unipolar] It is being replaced by a fairer multipolar world. It seems that the liberal globalization model is becoming obsolete, the center of business activity is moving to developing markets, which is triggering a powerful wave of growth, including BRICS countries, ”said the Russian dictator.
