United States President Donald Trump has promised to reduce the price of medicines by up to 1,500%. The speech was made during dinner with Republican legislators in the White House.
During the speech, Trump accused pharmacists of selling medicines to Europe and elsewhere worldwide, with lower prices than in the United States. He said companies “have no choice” and that he “won’t allow this to happen anymore.”
Trump intends to use import restrictions to force foreign suppliers to cut drug prices and stressed that companies that do not agree to “have a lot of problems.”
The US president also took advantage of the event to again criticize the president of the United States Federal Reserve System (Fed), for not lowering interest. He called Jerome Powell a “hard head” and hinted that he is doing a bad job.
