Thirty people died on Wednesday (2) in new bombing of Israel against the Gaza Strip, despite the signs of a possible ceasefire agreement between the Israeli government and the Hamas Group.
Information on the advance in negotiations was released on Tuesday (1) by the president of the United States, Donald Trump. In a publication on his social network, Truth Social, he stated that Israel agreed to suspend the attacks for 60 days as part of an attempt to end the military offensive in the region.
Hours before the statement, a Hamas representative said the group is willing to accept the truce as long as the pact involves the definitive closure of the war.
Despite the expectation of an agreement, this Wednesday’s attacks indicate that violence continues. Since the beginning of the conflict, in October 2023, thousands of civilians have died in Gaza, many of them in residential areas or in places that serve as shelter for displaced families.
