The Ministry of Health has announced an agreement that will allow care of patients from the Unified Health System (SUS) in hospitals and private laboratories. The measure is part of a program focused on health insurance operators that have debts with the federal government.
The proposal provides that these operators can pay off debts, which total more than R $ 750 million, through the provision of services to the population. Adherence to the program will be voluntary and should start in September.
Six specialties will have priority: Otorhinolaryngology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Cardiology and Gynecology. To participate, interested companies must prove technical capacity and ensure that their services meet the main demands of the region where they will operate.
The indication of the most urgent services will be made by states and municipalities, and SUS professionals themselves will be responsible for schedule the calls.
