Amid the intensification of the political crisis between Congress and the Federal Government, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), authorized the holding of a special session to discuss the allegations of fraud at the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). The hearing, which will bring together parliamentarians from all commissions of the house, should take place this Wednesday (02), at 14h.
Guests to provide clarification are Social Security Minister Wolney Queiroz, the current INSS president, Gilberto Waller, and the former president of the agency, Alessandro Stefanutto, dismissed after the Federal Police Operation (PF) and the Union General Office (CGU).
The investigation revealed a scheme of undue automatic discounts in Retirement and Pensions of the INSS, involving associations and unions, which may have moved more than $ 6 billion.
The consent to the special session of the mayor occurs amid the increase of tensions between Congress and the government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Motta was responsible for guiding the overthrow of the decree raising the tax rate tax rates (IOF).
Last week, the bill was approved by both the House and Senate – which symbolized a defeat by the Lula government. This Tuesday (01), AGU fired the Supreme Federal Court (STF) against the decision of the Congress.
