Rumble celebrates sanctions against Moraes and asks for reactivation

by Marcelo Moreira

The Rumble Video Platform, which, along with Trump Media, the US President’s company, is suing Alexandre de Moraes in the United States, celebrated on Wednesday (30) the sanctions of Donald Trump management against the Supreme Court Minister (STF) based on Magnitsky Law.

“Our client receives with satisfaction this firm measure from the US government in defense of freedom of expression and the rule of law. No foreign magistrate has the authority to censor the speech of US citizens or punish US companies for complying with constitutional laws in US territory,” Rumble lawyers said in a statement.

In the statement, they asked the platform to be restored in Brazil. In February, Moraes ordered the suspension of Rumble’s operation in the country after the company announced that it would not comply with its orders and have not appointed legal representative in Brazil.

“We reiterate our appeal for the Brazilian Supreme Court of Brazil to revoke these illegal orders and restore full access to the Rumble platform in the country. The sanctions announced today leave an unambiguous message: violations of fundamental freedoms, especially when directed to American citizens, will have consequences,” said the lawyers.

Rumble and Trump Media joined this year with a lawsuit against Moraes in the Federal Court of Florida, claiming that STF minister measures relating to the video platform would be illegal by American legislation.

Trump Media is part of the action because Rumble provides cloud services to Truth Social, the president’s main product.

In an X publication, Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovsky also commented on the sanctions against Moraes.

“Finally we have a government protecting American companies like Rumble and freedom of expression. Two years ago, I never imagined that we would see a day like this, but I’m forever grateful to be here,” Pavlovsky wrote.

“Thank you, Scott Bessent [secretário do Tesouro] and Donald Trump, for the leadership for American values, ”he added.
