Police arrested on Monday (7) a man investigated for trying to kidnap Senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil) in 2023. The suspect, who was on the run of justice, was arrested by the military in the city of Osasco, Greater São Paulo.
The man had an open arrest warrant for theft at Caxias do Sul airport in 2024. He was accused of providing operational and logistics support for the group members. About 2 cell phones and $ 4,000 in kind were seized.
According to the Military Police, a connection between the robbery and the summit of a criminal faction involved in the attempted sequestration of the parliamentarian was discovered.
The suspect is also investigated for planning an attack on the rear and treasury sector of the Central Bank of Brazil in Caruaru, Pernambuco. He was referred to the headquarters of the Federal Police, where the case was registered.
