Peruvian authorities fined, on Wednesday (2), the Lima Medical Center, which served, in February, the Colombian star Shakira in about 190,000 dollars (approximately $ 1 million), for the disclosure of the singer’s record.
Shakira was hospitalized urgently with an “abdominal frame” that resulted in the cancellation of two shows in Lima on February 16.
In a statement, the National Health Superintendence (Susalud), an entity that supervises the country’s system, said it applied a fine after investigating the case for five months and stressed that the clinic violated the confidentiality of medical data.
According to Peruvian standards, disseminating data on patients is a serious offense and violates the rights of people who access health services.
