Striker Paulinho, from Palmeiras, announced this Saturday (5) on his social networks, that he will need to undergo a new surgery in the right cinnamon. With this, shirt 10 is out of the rest of the season and should only act again in 2026.
Paulinho had dealt with the same region since 2024, when he suffered a stress fracture in the tibia while defending Atletico Mineiro. Even injured, he followed in the field for about eight months, training adapted and under medication.
In December of the same year, the striker underwent surgery in Belo Horizonte, with accompaniment by doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, who also serves the Brazilian team.
After the first surgery, Paulinho was hired by Palmeiras for 18 million euros. In the negotiation, Gabriel Menino and Patrick were involved and transferred to Atletico-MG.
The striker premiered for Verdon in April this year, within the estimated deadline of recovery, but again had pain in his right leg during the sequence of the season.
Despite an optimistic initial recovery forecast in two or three months, the new diagnosis indicated the need for a longer period of recovery, removing Paulinho from Brazilian football until 2026.
The new surgery is scheduled for this July.
