The Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and the Federal Police (PF) launched on Tuesday (29) Operation Korban to investigate the deviation of about $ 15 million in public resources. The money was passed on to an association of the Federal District through agreements with the Ministry of Sport, funded by parliamentary amendments.
According to the Federal Police, the transfers took place between 2023 and 2024. The value would be used to hold the Student Digital Sports Games (Jedis), with the proposal to enable public school students through courses related to electronic games and pedagogical activities.
The CGU warns that deviations may have compromised project quality and limited the number of students served. The initiative had as its main objective to promote the professional and digital development of young people from the public network.
The operation was authorized by the Federal Supreme Court (STF). 16 search and seizure warrants were fulfilled in the Federal District, Acre, Paraná and Goiás. Vehicles, properties and bank accounts linked to the investigated were blocking.
In addition, the court ordered the suspension of new transfers to the investigated association. It was also prohibited the transfer of money to subcontracted companies – that is, service providers hired with public money.
It is estimated that the blockade of goods from those involved reach R $ 25 million. Among the seized assets are luxury cars and urban properties.
