The number of people killed in floods that reach the American state of Texas exceeds 80. Search operations for about 41 missing in the region entered the fourth day on Monday (07). Local authorities have issued new departure alerts from risk areas because the forecast is more rainfall.
Kerr’s town is the hardest hit, with about 68 deaths. Of these, there are 40 adults and 28 children. According to the authorities, among the missing is a group of 11 girls from a Christian camp that was flooded by the flood of the Guadalupe River.
Flood alerts remain in force throughout the region. President Donald Trump signed a disaster statement and called on teams from the federal emergency management agency to collaborate with local teams. Firefighters, police and volunteers are mobilized in rescue work.
