Billionaire Elon Musk was once again featured in the American press on Friday (4) with his plan to create a new political party.
In X, he took advantage of Independence Day to suggest to followers to respond to a vote whether or not they agree with the emergence of an alternative way to the Republican Party, President Donald Trump, and the Democratic Party.
“Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the bipartisan system (some would say unipartitary)!” Wrote Musk hours before the US president will perform a ceremony for signing his tax plan, the target of billionaire criticism in recent days.
Musk has been considering being involved more directly in politics since the beginning of the month, shortly after starting to disagree with President Trump precisely by advancing the budget proposal approved on Thursday (3) in the House of Representatives.
On Monday, the entrepreneur threatened to follow the political party project if the Trump-ended fiscal plan was approved. He said at the time: “If this insane spending bill is approved, the America will be formed the next day.”
On Tuesday, Trump took the fight with the businessman ahead, even recommending that the Government Efficiency Department (Doge) analyze the incentives received by their companies.
“Elon perhaps receive more subsidies than any human being in history, from afar, and without these subsidies, he would probably have to close his doors and return to South Africa,” the president wrote on Truth Social.
Climbing the tone that day, Trump even commented with a reporter about the possibility of deportation of the billionaire. According to him, it would be a subject that he would have to “take a look.”
On Wednesday, Musk seemed to reduce tensions with the president of the United States by praising his victories on the external agenda. At X, he said, “Credit where it is due. Donald Trump successfully resolved several serious conflicts around the world.”
