Military Police announced a special operation to strengthen security in corridors, garages and bus terminals throughout the state of São Paulo. The measure was taken after a series of attacks that resulted in the depredation of about 200 buses in the capital in less than a month.
Strategic actions aim to curb recent acts of vandalism against public transport collectives. For this, about 7,800 police and 3,600 vehicles will be mobilized and positioned at strategic points. Patrol will also be supported by ROCAM military and other specialized units of the corporation. The operation is expected to extend until July 31st.
At the same time, the Civil Police, through the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), follows investigations into the depredation cases recorded in recent days.
