President Lula’s approval (PT) reached 50.2% in July and once again exceeded the disapproval rate, which was 49.7%, according to the Latam Pulse poll released on Thursday (31). It is the first time since October last year that the petista records positive balance, even if it is by minimal difference.
The survey was conducted by the Atlasintel Institute between July 25 and 28. The survey listened to 7,334 people throughout Brazil and the margin of error is 1%, with a level of reliability of 95%.
The approval of the Lula administration also improved. The group that evaluates management as great or good grew to 46.6% – three points more than in the previous survey. The index of people who consider the administration bad or poor dropped to 48.2%, a fall from one point. Another 5.1% classify the government as regular.
Recovery occurs amid Lula’s firm response against the United States 50% tariff over Brazilian products. In recent weeks, the petista has intensified the discourse against international interference and has defended Brazilian sovereignty in the face of the sanctions imposed by Donald Trump.
The last time Lula had more approval than failure was in October 2024, when 50.7% rated him positively. Since then, the indices have been showing a negative curve, now reverted for the first time in nine months.
