Latvia has announced the sending of 42 6 × 6 home armored vehicles in Ukraine, as part of a package of military aid approved by the government.
The armored armored were ordered at the beginning of the year and, according to the Minister of Defense Andris Sprūds, the first specimens will be sent shortly. Latvia’s commitment to Ukrainian defense provides for military support of 0.25% of national GDP.
The Latvian Defense Ministry has guaranteed that the donation of vehicles will not compromise the operational capacity of its armed forces. In February, the Ukrainian ambassador has already followed the production of the first expedition to the homeland factories, which produces about 30 units per year and also meets the internal needs of Latvia.
The 6 × 6 homeland is a modern armored vehicle for troops transport, developed by the Finnish company from the Patria. Equipped with six -wheeled traction, powerful engine and independent suspensions, it is capable of operating on difficult soils, crossing waterways and reaching up to 100 km/h on the road. With capacity for 10 soldiers, the vehicle has a minced mining and light armor, and can be equipped with heavy weapons such as machine guns and launchers.
