The São Paulo court granted on Monday (30) provisional release to the agent of the Engineering and Traffic Company (CET) that was arrested in the act for driving drunk and beat the car on Sunday night (29), in the center of the capital.

Precautionary measures that must be fulfilled

  • The agent must attend monthly in court to inform and justify his activities;
  • Keep the address updated with the competent Court;
  • It is forbidden to be absent from the district of residence for more than eight days without warning;
  • Must comply with the rendering of bail in the amount of R $ 3 thousand.

Understand the case

According to the police report, the agent, identified as Edson Freire Júnior, was seen consuming alcohol in a bar. After returning to CET’s official vehicle, he collided with a car that was regularly parked on the road.

In testimony, a witness reported that Edson had obvious signs of drunkenness, such as imbalance, speaking pasty and lack of motor coordination. He would have tried to leave the scene after the crash, but had the vehicle key withdrawn and the military police triggered.

At the scene, the PMs found the agent’s altered state and gave a prison voice. Edson refused to take the breathalyzer test and was taken to the 78th Police District with the owner of the car hit.
