Aquaman’s Jason Momoa Is Unrecognizable After Shaving His Beard for First Time in 6 Years

Jason Momo is diving into a new look.

The Aquaman star shaved off his beard for the first time in six years in preparation for the filming of Dune: Part Threein which he’ll reprise his role of swordmaster Duncan Idaho after sitting out the movie franchise’s second installment in 2024.

“Goddammit,” he quipped in a video shared on Instagram July 30, after buzzing off his signature scruff. “I hate it.”

Calling it a “kickoff” to a new chapter, Jason added in a shoutout to Dune director Denis Villeneuve“Only for you.”

But 45-year-old’s face won’t be the only familiar one on set. After all, his 16-year-old son NANA-Wolf MANAO—who he shares with ex Lisa Bonet—has been cast as Leto II, the son of Timothée Chalamet‘s Paul Atreides and Zedaya‘s Chani characters.

“A rude awakening is what he’s in for,” Jason joked to Extra earlier in July. “He’s into the workforce for the first time. It’s going to be good.”
