The Israeli government rejected a joint statement issued on Monday (21) by the Foreign Ministers of 25 countries and the European Union Commissioner for Equality, Preparation and Management of Crisis, Hadja Lahbib, asking for the end of the Gaza Strip and the entry of food supplies in the place, and blamed the terrorist group Hamas for continuous attacks.
“All statements and statements must be directed to the only part responsible for the lack of a deal on the liberation of hostages and a ceasefire: Hamas, which began this war and is extending it,” said Israel’s Foreign Ministry in a statement.
In the text, Israel insists that “there is a concrete proposal for a ceasefire agreement” – which does not include the definitive end of the offensive or the withdrawal of the Gaza troops – which was “repeatedly” accepted by Israel, but not by Hamas.
“At this delicate moment of ongoing negotiations, it is better to avoid such statements,” the statement asks.
The petition signed by the Foreign Ministers of Spain, Belgium, Canada, the United Kingdom and France, among others, asks Israel to end its war offensive and emphasizes that the country must fulfill its obligations “according to international humanitarian law.”
The chancelors also pointed to “dangerous” the current model of food delivery, based on about four militarized complexes that deposit food boxes at surrounded delivery points.
“We condemn the fragmented distribution of help and inhuman civilian death, including children, who try to meet their most basic food and water needs. It is terrible that more than 800 Palestinians have died while seeking help,” says diplomatic bosses.
The number of deaths in this context is pointed out by the Ministry of Health of Gaza, controlled by Hamas.
Representatives of these 25 countries also expressed their opposition to plans to transfer 2.1 million Palestinians to Rafah.
