On March 15, he was sent back to El Salvador and transferred to Megapreside known as the Terrorism Confinement Center (Cecot). In the new court documents, Abrego Garcia states that prison officers threatened him several times by saying that they would put him in cells with gang members who would “break it”. He said he saw other prisoners attacking himself violently in neighboring cells and heard shouts at night. Garcia also reported that she lost more than 13 pounds in the first two weeks at the scene.
