Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah began a great strategic review of his military forces and would have decided to reduce his arsenal after almost two years of combat on the northern border of Israel.
The information is from the news agency Reuters. According to three sources that are aware of the internal discussions of the Lebanese government, Hezbollah was being pressured since an unstable truce was reached in November last year.
The confrontation between Lebanese and Israelis burst shortly after Hamas attacks to Israel on October 7, 2023. For months, Hezbollah launched rockets, drones and other attacks against Israeli positions in the north in solidarity with Palestine.
In May this year, Israel bombed a arms deposit of the Terrorist Group in the Valley of Beca, located in East Region of Lebanon. According to Israel’s defense forces (FDI), the site was an installation used for the manufacture and storage of strategic weapons, which was in the process of restoration by the Lebanese terrorist group.
Despite the tension in the region, without a formal ceasefire, the conflict has not yet climbed on a large scale, as occurred in 2006, when 1,100 Lebanese and 165 Israeli were killed during the 34 days of combat, closed after an agreement mediated at the time by the United Nations.
