Government releases more than R $ 20 billion for the 2025 budget

by Marcelo Moreira

The Ministries of Finance and Planning announced on Tuesday (22) the release of R $ 20.6 billion in the budget of 2025. With the release of resources, the total budget block, which was R $ 31.3 billion until May this year, was reduced to R $ 10.7 billion.

To assess the need for blocking or release of funds in the budget, the government has made a new estimated income and expenses for this year and considered adjustments to the increase in tax on financial operations (IOF) partially confirmed by the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

In addition to a series of measures, it is noteworthy that the president of the National Congress, Senator Davi Alcolumbre, extended the effectiveness of some provisional measures edited by the government, including the IOF.

After the publication of a presidential decree, on July 30, which will show the limits of commitment (spending authorization), it will be possible to know more details regarding the release of R $ 10 billion by organs and ministries.
