Ford presented BlueCruise version 1.5, its level 2 driving system, which is now able to make automatic track changes.
The feature is available at the Mustang Mach-e 2025 and allows the car to exceed slow vehicles or get out of the faster traffic front without any driver action. The update also brings improvements in the interface, which informs more clearly when the function is active or when it will be temporarily disabled.

In addition to the new features, BlueCruise 1.5 requires an enhanced set of sensor and a more powerful processing center, which makes it impossible to install in vehicles equipped with previous versions. In tests performed on Highway I-96, the system has shown efficient responses and soft track exchanges, although in more critical situations the driver still needs to intervene, a characteristic common to level 2 driving systems.
With the changes, BlueCruise approaches GM Super Cruise, which has offered automatic track exchanges since 2021 and has higher road coverage.
The new Ford system is included for a year in Mach-e GT and Rally versions, while other models require paid or monthly or annual subscription. The technology is expected to be expanded to other vehicles of the brand in the future.
