A BAE-125-700A business aircraft with registration number N10TN was found partially destroyed on July 3 in a remote area of Gracias A Dios Department, east of Honduras, near the border with Nicaragua.
The aircraft was discovered by local authorities and arouses suspicion of connection to drug smuggling.
According to preliminary investigations, the jet had taken off from the Dominican Republic with courses against Venezuela the night of June 29. The crew had delivered a flight plan with destination Granada, but deviated from the route, turned off the transponder along the way and landed illegally on Venezuelan territory. The next day, June 30, the plane was discovered by radars as it flew over Nicaraguan airspace before it disappeared from the monitoring.

During the inspection of the wreck, performed by the Nicaraguan air defense, no persons or illegal cargo on board were found. However, other sources indicate that the aircraft may have transported around 400 kg of cocaine. Studies also showed that the registration number was deliberately covered with paint, apparently to prevent identification.
Inside the cabin, investigators found a tablet (iPad) and oxygen cylinders, which are now included in the forensic material analyzed. The aircraft is registered with the US Civil Aviation Authority (FAA) in the name of the company Pacific Rim Management LLC, based in the USA and established in 2022.

The authorities in Honduras, Nicaragua and other countries in the region are now cooperating to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible behind the operation, which may be linked to international air smuggling routes for drugs.
