Hours after the accident, Liverpool fans began to gather in front of the English team’s Anfield stadium to leave flowers and other honors to the player. There were also tracks on the spot with the inscription “Rest in Peace, Jota. Ynwa”, in reference to the famous crowd, acronym for “you will never walk alone” in Portuguese.
