The Brazilian team faces Chile on September 4 in Maracanã, for the penultimate round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The game is scheduled for 9:30 pm and will be the first of the team at the stadium under the command of Carlo Ancelotti.
The choice of Maracanã was a request from the coach. He wants to have the experience of leading the national team on the main stage of Brazilian football. The CBF had already nominated the stadium as the headquarters of the match, and Conmebol confirmed the decision on Tuesday (8).
With 25 points, the selection is classified for the World Cup and occupies the third position in the qualifiers. The vacancy was guaranteed in June, after a 0-0 draw with Ecuador on the last date FIFA.
After the game against Chile, the team closes their participation in the qualifiers on September 9. The opponent will be Bolivia in a game away from home.
