A commercial plane lost contact with traffic control in the Amur region of Russia and disappeared, local governor Vasily Orlov confirmed on Thursday (24). According to the rescue team, a search helicopter found the body of the aircraft on fire in the region. Orlov had reported that teams searched the plane. “All the necessary strengths and resources were mobilized to get the plane,” he wrote on Telegram. According to the Russian Interfax and Shot News agencies, the aircraft is from the Antonov AN-24 model, operated by Siberia’s Angara Company. The flight was destined for Tynda City in the Amur region on the China border. According to local information, the aircraft was a few kilometers from destination when it lost contact. The number of passengers has not yet been confirmed. According to Oslov, there were 43 people in the aircraft, including five children and six crew.
