The defense of federal deputy Carla Zambelli presented to the government of Italy a request for political asylum. She is in a female chain in Rebibbia, Rome, after being arrested in a rented apartment, away from the center of the country’s capital.
The parliamentary party, the PL, will send a letter to the Ministry of Justice of Italy portraying it as “persecuted politics.” The initiative should add to that of her lawyer, Fábio Pagnozzi. The custody hearing is scheduled for this Friday (1st).
The Justice of Italy will define if it remains imprisoned, if it will be released or will continue to arrest a decision on a possible extradition process. She is also subject to serving the sentence imposed by the Federal Supreme Court in Rome or being referred to a prison in a Brazilian prison.
