In a written answer to the request from the Labor MP Peter Lamb, whether excess vehicles could be donated to the support of Ukrainian defense against Russia, Defense Minister Luke Pollard said that a small number for retirement would be provided, but a delivery would not be justified.
“The delivery of such a small number would only increase the variety of the Ukrainian armored fleet and thus its logistical and training -related stress,” wrote Pollard. “Although some vehicles are to be retired, the selection is based on maintenance and expedience.”
The Warrior shooter armor has been on duty since the late 1980s and was used in numerous missions by the British army. However, his useful life is coming to an end.
