A British engineering team has arrived in South India to start repairing the British Royal Air Force F-35B stealth fighter jet at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala.
A few weeks ago, the plane carried out a forced landing due to a technical problem while flying over the area.

According to the British High Commissioner, “a British engineering team arrived at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to assess and repair the British F-35B.”
The maintenance operation is the first known case when type F-35B made a forced landing in India.
Initially, the plane was kept under the open sky, but recently transferred to a hangar at the airport’s maintenance, repair and review (MRO) facility after the United Kingdom accepted the room offered by Indian authorities. The special technical equipment needed to repair was also brought with them.

“We are grateful for the continuous support and cooperation of the Indian authorities,” the British defense team said in India through social media. “The repairs are in progress, the aircraft has already been transferred to the maintenance hangar.”
The British government publicly thanked the staff of Thiruvananthapuram Airport for their support and technical assistance.
However, there has been no exact schedule for completing the repairs, however, and it is not yet known when the F-35B can return to service.
