Brazilian senators have a meeting with US parliamentarians on Tuesday (29) in Washington, as part of the official mission that seeks alternatives to the 50% tariff imposed by the Government of Donald Trump on Brazilian products.
On Monday (28), the group met with entrepreneurs from the United States, in a first effort to reopen trade dialogue between the two countries.
According to Senator Nelsinho Trad (PSD-MS), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Commission and entourage coordinator, the goal in the coming days is to distemance the bilateral relationship and restore direct dialogue channels with the US Congress.
“The idea is to create a more favorable political environment for the federal government, which has the prerogative of negotiating international agreements, can advance the negotiations,” said the parliamentarian.
