Bannon calls Moraes “Lucifer” and says there will be more sanctions

by Marcelo Moreira

Political strategist Steve Bannon, former advisor to US President Donald Trump, celebrated on Wednesday (30) the sanctions of the Republican representative against the Supreme Court Minister (STF) Alexandre de Moraes based on magnitsky law.

“Take this, Moraes. Punishment finally arrived for Lucifer,” he said in messages sent to the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper Panel column.

Bannon stated that, in addition to the punishments to Moraes by Magnitsky’s law and the revocation of US visas of the Minister and other STF judges, there will be other sanctions to the Court “in the case of continuation of illegal political persecution to Jair Bolsonaro” – which is being tried in the Supreme for accusations of attempted coup d’état after the 2022 election.

However, Bannon told Folha that the meeting of Vice President Geraldo Alckmin with representatives of Big Techs on Tuesday (29) already indicates a change in government behavior.

“The Brazilian regime is already signaling that the censorship game is ending,” said the strategist, who defended amnesty for involved in the riots of January 8, 2023 in Brasilia.

“Complete amnesty for political prisoners is the solution for congressional leadership to unlock this situation,” Bannon said.
