The balloon flights resumed in Praia Grande, in southern Santa Catarina, this Wednesday (2). The activity had been interrupted on June 21, after equipment caught fire and causing the death of eight people.
The resumption has new security measures. These include two fire extinguishers in each balloon, the use of intercom radios and technical improvements in equipment handling.
Currently, tourist balloon in Brazil does not have specific technical rules. The regulation in force refers to sports, under the responsibility of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
